In 1999, Jan Jaben-Eilon
was asked by several editors at US publications to put
together a network of correspondents around the world who
could report on various subjects, mostly business, from
their particular countries. Now more than one dozen correspondents
are involved in this network, with more than one US trade
publication depending on their reporting and writing. Jan
acts as the go-between, assigning stories and doing the
first edit, for which she is paid a fee by the publications.
In this more global environment, an increasing number
of US publications are looking for international news, but don't
know how to find good correspondents in various countries.
Because of Jan's past international experience and contacts,
she has the means to provide this service to them.
At the same time, she
continues to do her own freelance writing, as well as
occasional public speaking and teaching, and she's working
on a book about
the Middle East.
An experienced advertising
and corporate communications writer, Susan has worked on print,

and technology fields. (Her “Coffee Shop” TV spot recently
won a Gold Medal at the 2000 Medical Marketing Association
International Awards.) A Senior Creative on the agency and
client sides of the business for more than twenty years, she
has the knack of turning the most mundane message into a must
read, and the most complicated message into easily understandable
prose.
She’s been senior writer
on HIP Health Plan for six years, creating ads, collateral,
TV and radio, even their annual report. Her other clients include Brother International,
Warrantech,
AT&T, Bell Atlantic, Beneficial Management Corp., Crum
& Forster Commercial Insurance and Dow Jones (The Wall
Street Journal, Barron’s).She also edited "DataBriefs," a 50,000+ circulation
magazine for AT&T ACCUNET (data communications service)
customers, upper echelon executives and MIS professionals.
